Proposed Med-Mal Legislation May Die

Health activists are pressing the new government to pass medical malpractice legislation before it dies.  “‘The bill on medical malpractice compensation now risks being nullified since there are only about three weeks left before the end of the 60-day deadline,’ said Ms Preeyanan, who leads a network of victims of medical errors”, reports the Bangkok Post on 8 September 2011.  About one year ago, on 22 September 2010, the Legal Committee and the Healthcare committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM) held a joint panel discussion on the proposed legislation.  PriceSanond partner Douglas Mancill chairs AMCHAM’s Legal Committee.  Members of AMCHAM should be able to access materials from this program on the AMCHAM’s  website
