Employee-Friendly Amendments to Labour Protection Act to Become Effective in May 2019

Increased maternity leave, paid business leave and an additional band of severance pay are just a few of the employee-friendly amendments passed by the Thai legislature in December 2018 as part of the seventh amendment to the Labour Protection Act, B.E. 2541 (1998), which we reported on here.

On 5 April 2019, the amendments were published in the Royal Gazette and will take effect on 5 May 2019.
