Thailand’s National Wage Committee has resolved, in their meeting No. 08/2022, held on the 26th of August 2022, that Thailand’s minimum wages will be increased to assist with inflation and increased cost of living pressures.
The resolution, and wage increase, will be presented by the Ministry of Labor to Cabinet, who are expected to approve the increase.
Thailand currently sets minimum wage levels according to province, and there will be nine separate minimum wages applicable, depending on the location of the workplace.
All nine minimum wages will increase by amounts equal to between 5% to 8%.
The increases will take effect from the 1st of October 2022, if published by that date in the Government Gazette.
