THAILAND EXTENDS PERMISSION TO STAY FOR FOREIGN TOURISTS

To support economic recovery and mitigate the negative impact suffered by businesses in the tourism sector due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has approved a plan for extension of permission to stay in Thailand for foreign tourists entering Thailand under a 30-day visa exempted stamp or a 15-day visa on arrival stamp.

  • Foreigners entering Thailand under a 30-day visa exempted stamp will be able to stay for up to 45 days.
  • Foreigners entering Thailand under a 15-day visa on arrival will be able to stay for up to 30 days.
  • These changes will be effective from 1 October 2022 until 31 March 2023. An extension of this measure may be announced.

The Immigration Bureau shall officially announce the plan, and we will provide an update when the official announcement or regulations are issued and published in the Government Gazette and it is known on what date the plan will come into effect.
